General Terms & Conditions

This site is owned and operated by Adams College of English (Registered office: 3700 Wilshire Blvd. Suite 985 Los Angles, CA 90010).

 

Enrollment & Confirmation Procedure: Adams College of English (herein after called "ACE) application forms can be downloaded and filled out online at www.adamscollege.edu. Application forms and application fees should be sent directly to the school. Once the application and payment is confirmed,  you will contacted by the school to schedule an orientation and placement test exam.

 

Validity: All information and fees are valid until stated. ACE reserves the right to change details of the fees and services including course/facilities and dates where circumstances are beyond ACE’s control.

 

Application: Fees and application fee applies to all enrollments to ACE with the exception of extensions of programs. ACE application fees are $150 for domestic international students and abroad international students. All application fees are non-refundable.

 

Cancellation and Withdrawal Policy: The student has the right to cancel the enrollment agreement and refund charges paid for attendance either before the first day of class session or the seventh day after enrollment (whichever is later) and obtain a full refund minus the registration fee by submitting a written notice to this school no later than the seventh day of instruction. Cancellation occurs when the student gives written notice of cancellation to the Administrative Director or the Senior Management Team. The student may mail, hand deliver, fax, or telegram the cancellation. The written notice of cancellation, if sent by mail, is effective when deposited in the mail and properly addressed with prepaid postage. Cancellation notices are to be addressed to: Adams College of English 3700 Wilshire Blvd. Suite 985 Los Angeles, CA 90010. Students have the right to withdraw from a program/the school at any time. If students withdraws from the program after the cancellation period, the school will remit a pro-rate refund for the unused portion of the tuition. The registration fee is excluded from the total tuition charge. The amount of refund is the total tuition charge then divided by the remaining number of hours in the course to calculate the hourly charge. The refund is the amount excess of what the student owes for total hours of instruction completed. All refunds will be sent to the student within 45 days of written notice of withdrawal from the program. Delay in payments or any delay in any part of the payments due may result in the student losing their guaranteed place in the school and/or immediate expulsion from the program.

 

Expulsion Policy: ACE reserves the right to expel any student whose conduct is unsatisfactory at the discretion of the senior management team. The decision made by the Senior management team will be finalized. In such case, any outstanding fees will be payable immediately.

 

Resolution & Disputes: Any complaint should first be made to the Director of Administration. If not resolved, the complaint should be sent to state agency or immigration offices.

 

Promotional Activity: Students agree that the student’s photos, quotes and details of achievements may be used for ACE’s promotional purposes without written consent or notification. Objections to any usage should be made in writing to ACE before the start of the program.

 

Student Records and Retention Policy: Adam's College of English maintains individual records and information about students for the purpose of educational and personal services. It is the school's policy to comply fully with federal statutes and regulations regarding the confidentiality of student educational records. As required by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, as amended, the following guidelines and procedures are intended to ensure confidentiality of Student Education Records, to establish the right of students to inspect and view their records, to clarify the circumstances under which educational records may be released to third parties, and to establish the appropriate procedures to be followed by student for the correction of inaccurate or misleading data within the records. A summary of these guidelines and procedures will be disclosed to students at their orientation. Copies will also be available upon request. The school may disclose personally identifiable information from a student's file, without the consent specified above, only if the disclosure meets one or more of the following conditions: 1. The disclosure is to school personnel who have a legitimate education interest in the records. The sufficiency of the need will be determined on a case-by-case basis by the DOA from which the records are sought. 2. The disclosure is to personnel of other schools, colleges, or universities in which the student seeks or intends to enroll or where the student is already in attendance if the student is enrolled in or received services from any other school. A copy of any information sent will be provided upon the student's request. 3. The disclosure is to authorized representatives of the General of the United States, the Attorney General of the United States, the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education, or to State and local educational authorities. 4. The disclosure is to accrediting organizations to carry out their accrediting procedures with the guarantee that the identity of the student will be protected. 5. The disclosure is to comply with a judicial order or lawfully issued subpoena. 6. The disclosure is in connection with a health or a safety emergency. 7. The disclosure is to any third party where the student has been found to be an alleged perpetrator of a crime of violence or nonforcible sex offense. The following requests must be accompanied by the written consent of the student. 1. Essential Elements of Consent: The written consent required by this section must be signed and dated by the student, specify the records to be disclosed, state the purpose of the disclosure, and identify the party or to whom the disclosure may be made. 2. Right to Copy of Records Disclosed: When disclosure is made pursuant to this section, the record-keeping office will, upon request, provide the student with a copy of the records that were disclosed. 3. Subsequent Disclosure: The school will disclose personally identifiable information from the records of a student only on the conditions that the party to whom the disclosure is made 1) will not further disclose the information without the student's prior written consent and 2) will only use the information for the purposes for which the disclosure was made.
